Small details make retrieval day calm. Please read this carefully before your procedure and follow the instructions given by the medical team.
Medications
Take every medication exactly according to the medical team's instructions. The trigger injection — Chorimon® 5000 IU — must be taken at the exact time specified by the medical team, because trigger timing is essential to the success and timing of egg retrieval. Do not stop or modify any medication without consulting the doctor or medical team.
If the Chorimon® trigger is forgotten or its timing/administration is uncertain, contact the center immediately.
Fasting
No food or drink for approximately 8 – 10 hours before the procedure, including water, chewing gum and candy — unless the anesthesiologist gives different instructions. Necessary medications may be taken with a small sip of water only if approved by the doctor.
Personal Preparation
Shower the day before the procedure. Wear comfortable, loose clothing.
- Avoid creams and moisturizers
- Avoid oils
- Avoid perfumes
- Avoid makeup
- Avoid nail polish, especially dark colors
- Do not wear jewelry or bring valuables
- Avoid contact lenses if possible
Transportation
Because the procedure is performed under sedation/anesthesia, the patient must arrange for someone to accompany her home. After the procedure, the patient must not drive, operate machinery, or make important legal or financial decisions, as instructed by the medical team.
Arrival at the Center
Arrive approximately 30 – 60 minutes before the scheduled procedure. Bring a valid ID and the required consent documentation.
Semen Sample when needed
If a fresh sample is required, follow the recommended abstinence period before egg retrieval and provide the sample according to laboratory instructions and timing. If a frozen sample will be used, follow the medical team's instructions.
Contact the Center
Contact the center before your procedure if you develop any of the following:
- Vaginal bleeding
- Severe abdominal pain
- Signs of infection or vaginal inflammation
- Cough or respiratory symptoms
- Fever
- Any new health problem that may affect the procedure
Important Reminder
Taking Chorimon® 5000 IU at the exact prescribed time is one of the most important steps before egg retrieval. If the injection is forgotten, taken at the wrong time, or there is uncertainty about how it was administered, contact the center immediately.
